My Pottery

As a full-time potter and florist, I have never felt these two practices as separate. Flowers find their way into my clay, and clay into my floral arrangements. Each informs the other, creating an ongoing conversation among the garden, the studio, and the seasons.

My flowers are a constant source of inspiration. I am drawn to the shapes, textures, movement, and imperfections of the natural world; the way a stem bends, the architecture of a seedpod, the unfurling of a blossom, the delicate tension between something growing and something beginning to fade. I notice these things in the garden, then carry them into the studio.

Working with clay offers another way to explore what I see. Forms that begin as observations of flowers, branches, leaves, or seedpods may become vessels, sculptural forms, or surface textures.

My work is a way of paying attention. The garden teaches me to notice. The studio gives me a place to respond. Whether I am shaping clay or arranging flowers, I am exploring the same questions of form, beauty, impermanence, and our relationship to the natural world. You can view my Pottery Here

Ivy Rose Cottage

Come visit our cottage, nestled between Charlottesville and the many beautiful local vineyards.

When I’m not busy arranging flowers or making pottery, I’m hosting our local Airbnb, Ivy Rose Cottage, or the Ivy Rose Teahouse. I love creating a warm, welcoming place where guests can slow down, enjoy the beauty of the countryside, and experience a little of what makes this place so special.
